Kimothy Smith

Chief Science Officer and Director

Dr. Kimothy Smith served as Senior Advisor for International Biodefense at U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Health Affairs, and as Acting Director of the National Biosurveillance Integration Center, where he set the strategy of a government-wide effort to acquire, aggregate, analyze, interpret and disseminate biosurveillance information from public and private sectors for epidemiological analyses and health protection. He also worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, serving as the Deputy Division Leader for Operations in the Counter-terrorism and Incident Response Division of the Non-proliferation, Arms Control and International Security Directorate. 

William J. Caragol

Chairman and Founder

William J. Caragol became Chairman and CEO of PositiveID in 2011, and has served as its president since its inception. He has also served in other executive management roles at PositiveID. Previously, Caragol was the vice president of business development and chief financial officer of Millivision Technologies, a technology company focused on security applications. Prior to his role at Millivision Technologies, Caragol was a consulting partner with East Wind Partners LLP, a technology and telecommunications consulting company, in Washington, D.C, and spent eight years at Deloitte and Touche. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and graduated from the Washington & Lee University with a bachelor's degree in Administration and Accounting.
